Speed Movie Review

Vikram Bhatt's Speed is a thriller with Sanjay Suri playing an under cover MI-5 agent. His wife (Urmila Matondkar) is kidnapped by Aftab Shivdasani and Sanjay is told to follow certain instructions if he wants to see his wife alive. The kidnapped Urmila manages to get in telephonic contact with Zayed Khan. Now Zayed is the only one who can help her out.

If you thought Vikram Bhatt couldn't make a movie worse than Red. Then yes, probably you are right. But Speed comes very close to beating Red, to Vikram's worst film ever. Now if there is one thing lacking in Speed, then it is its speed itself. The movie moves at a sluggish pace with a story so predictable that you may actually have fun guessing what the next scene would be. And mostly your guess would be right.

The movie seemed to have shot in London, could have easily been shot in Jhumri Talai without making any difference. The cinematography is that bad. Apart from a few Angrez people, no part of London has been captured on camera. The action director seems to have got a Krrish hangover. Actors do not fight; they fly and perform gravity defying stunts, which seem so very fake. The makeup artiste seriously needs to consider a shift of career. Consider, Sophie Choudhary a supposed terrorist who has loads of makeup enough to make a super model, jealous. Gosh!

The editor though deserves a pat to have reduced this movie to 2 hours and saved the audience. There are two boring songs too but if you could last 120 minutes of this boring film then two songs should be a cakewalk.

Tanushree Dutta and Sophie Choudhary show more of cleavage than acting skills. Zayed Khan is monotonous. Sanjay Suri is a case of talent wasted. Urmila Matondkar is ok. Aftab Shivdasani makes an impact.

So if you are devoted critic or a love birds in search of a place to coochie ?cooo or a person needing two hours of peaceful sleep. Then Speed is for you. And for the rest, Beware Speed is Out There at a Theatre near You.

What do you do when you get a phone call from a stranger begging you to save her life? What would you do if your only ray ray of hope is your phone? Would you sacrifice your love to save somebody's child? Wrong number answers these questions in a dramatic way. It's a great mix of mystery, action and comedy, on the beautiful backdrop of London. Zayed comes to London to convince his girlfriend Minisha to give him another chance to prove his love for her. Meanwhile, Sanjay, an undercover MI5 agent, receives a CD from Sohail Khan and his lady, Tanushree, which contains the recording of his kidnapped wife, Urmila, and is asked to follow the instructions. He asks his colleague Amrita to crack the code and moves off. He's completely confused about what's happening. Soon he realises that he is being used as a weapon to assassinate the PM of India on his London tour. As he is still not agreeing to plans, Sohail finally decides to kidnap his kid. Sanjay's kidnapped wife, Urmila, starts trying to escape. Her only ray of hope is the telephone call she's accidentally made to Zayed Khan. He's in touch with her throughout the movie on his cell phone. Continuously talking with her and giving her moral support. As Zayed decides to help Urmila, his love of life,Minisha gets pissed off and threatens to break up again. A happy-go-lucky brat Zayed, who never takes anything seriously, risks his own life to save an unknown family just because of a call. Aashish Chaudhary - the super-cop of London is in charge of security of the visiting Prime Minister. But as his girlfriend has her birthday the very same day, Ashish is caught between his personal life and duty. He obviously chooses the later. Wrong Number deals with many different characters and their lives on a parallel ground. It's a story of how lives of unknown people get intermingled during this crisis. Will Sohail and tanushree succeed in their sinister plans? And will Zayed be able to save his love life with Minisha?, Will Urmila and her kid live another day just with the help of Zayed's phone? Will Ashish be able to protect the life of the Prime Minister? Speed is a visual extravaganza with a touch of humour, action and suspense.
