Sir Elton Hercules John, CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947) is anEnglish singer-songwriter, composer and pianist. He worked on his songwriting buddy Bernie Taupin since 1967 they have collaborated on more than 30 albums to date. In his four decade career, John has sold more than 250 million albums, making him one of the most successful artists of all time.

John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947. He started playing the piano at the age of 3. At the age of 15, He became a weekend pianist at the nearby Northwood Hills pub, playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. In 1964, John and his friends formed a band called Bluesology. By day, he ran errands for a music publishing company; he divided his nights between solo gigs at a London hotel bar and working with Bluesology. In the spring of 1970, he released his first self title album "Elton John" and "Your Song" made the U.S. Top Ten.
